The Director Controlling Global Supply Chain Management will lead the Finance Function for the Global Supply Chain. This position has responsibility for three functional areas within the Procurement organization; (1) financial controlling, (2) audit, and (3) systems. The Director will partner with the global procurement organization and provide financial support to category leaders in an effort to achieve departmental cost improvement initiatives, manage all revenues and costs related to Harman’s procurement activities, and lead interaction with BU finance leads, suppliers and Harman operations. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring Procurement is adhering to all established compliance/audit policies and procedures. The specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Financial Controlling

  • Lead the Finance Function for a $4.8B Procurement Organization

  • Drive Procurement portion of annual Operating Plan (Sales/Spend/Savings)

  • Execute preparation and presentation of monthly Operations Review

  • Establish annual targets by Division and Category to support achievement of annual Corporate objectives

  • Own monthly/quarterly reporting of key KPI’s (Savings, QBR’s, Best Cost Country, Payment Terms)

  • Financial leadership during Design/Win/ Execute/Improve phases

  • Establish and maintain a system of internal controls to ensure consistent and accurate reporting of procurement results globally

  • Interface with Division Finance leads to ensure monthly P& L alignment vs budget commitments

  • Ensure Procurement savings are properly validated with supporting documentation

  • Monitor Division/Category savings results vs budget to identify gaps

  • Follow up with Category leads to indentify gap closure activities

  • Control the preparation of the monthly financial statements and account reconciliations

  • Administer the global rebate process(calculation, documentation, accruals)

  • Support Finance Controllers across the different divisions in the preparation of the Quarterly rolling forecast (EOM/BOM), daily sales and margin analysis, and in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan and Mid Year update to the Business Plan

  • Own the global Procurement Expense Budget process (headcount, comp & benefits, T & E, tooling, outside services)

  • Manage and control Harman’s global licensing expense of approximately $50M per year

  • Develop financial and scenario planning models, forecasts, strategy and transaction analysis, ad hoc analysis and management reports

  • Interface with Tax, Treasury, Audit and Division Finance as required

  • Prepare presentations and analysis for management and external constituents

  • Support engineers in the development of new products and the implementation of licensed technologies by providing accurate license coverage and costs

  • Implement the processes for the quarterly financial reporting of global licensing activities

  • Develop and monitor licensing operational policies worldwide

Audit

  • Primary Procurement contact for Internal and External Audits

  • Ensure Direct Material accuracy of BOMs worldwide

  • Generate and distribute weekly Info Record price change reports

  • Set annual financial and performance standards

  • Calculate/Validate MPV (Midyear Price Variance) & PPV (Purchase Part Variance)

  • Provide supporting monthly performance reports and QBR (Quarterly Business Reviews)

  • Oversee incoming and outgoing licensing audits of Harman’s license portfolio while identifying and realizing enforcement opportunities

  • Establish goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting related to areas of responsibility

  • Provide continuous process improvement

  • Requires knowledge of the business units technology and product roadmaps and specific expertise in procurement and manufacturing cost structure

Systems

  • Responsible for the Procurement and Supplier Management systems; including our SAP suite of applications: Spend Performance Management (SPM), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), e-Sourcing, etc; and will be responsible for interpretation of business rules and requirements for these systems and executing them within the divisions and business functions.

  • Ensure effective implementation of annual Procurement IT projects

  • Leverage SPM data across HARMAN functions

  • Continuous system improvement to increase efficiency

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • CPA and MBA preferred

  • English fluency (written & spoken)

  • 10+ years related experience in a large, multi-national matrix organization.

  • Knowledge of Global Procurement function strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience involving research and analysis of complex business issues.

  • Contractual negotiation experience

  • Experience working in a compliance and control environment

  • Advanced ERP systems, Excel and Power Point skills

  • Proven experience in managing global teams

  • Excellent judgment, integrity and ethics

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to work from an office in Budapest Hungary

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
