Job Purpose:

Financial Reporting Analyst covering Central Bank statistical reporting in the EMEA region. Citi as the leading global bank is present in 100+ countries, 55 of which are in EMEA. In each of these countries the Central Banks and other financial regulatory bodies require the timely and accurate reporting of key monetary statistics. It requires a team of dedicated professionals, with knowledge base in accounting, financial products and banking to be able to fulfill this requirement.

Citi Budapest is proud to house the EMEA Local Regulatory Reporting Centre of Excellence, which supports Central Bank statistical reporting for 10 countries, and is looking to cover more in the years ahead.

The Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly returns, which detail important aspects of the bank’s financials and therefore provide an invaluable source of information to National Bank of Hungary and other policymakers.

Job Background:

Citi’s EMEA Regulatory Reporting Centre of Excellence in Budapest is a key part of the banks’s Finance function. It is Citi’s pioneering centre on a global scale where local regulatory reporting professionals work together in a central location, to ensure consistent quality of local regulatory reporting across 10 jurisdictions and 16 legal vehicles.

The department is split into 4 main units:

  • the Statistical Reporting team covers Central Bank reporting for key monetary statistics, based on which important monetary policy decisions are made

  • the Credit Risk reporting team covers Basel2/3 Credit Risk monitoring and reporting (including Counterparty Credit Risk and Large Exposures)

  • the Market Risk reporting team covers Basel2/3 Market Risk processes (including Value at Risk and Standard Model approaches)

  • the Controls and Standardisation team ensures consistency of controls across the above areas

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce & deliver daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly statistical/regulatory reporting returns to the National Bank of Hungary.

• Maintenance and further development of key controls including reconciliations, variance analysis and mapping reviews

• Check and ensure that procedures and policies are applied to adequately cover rules and regulations

• Ongoing review and development of current processes to increase efficiency

• Liaise with multiple departments of the appropriate countries (including Financial Control, Treasury and Operations) to resolve issues

• Deep involvement in new system / process implementations related to Regulatory reporting requirements

• Prepare and update procedure notes for all returns as required

• Provide support to in-country Finance teams on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. audits, regulatory inquiries)

• Participate in future process migration activities

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

• 4+ years of work experience in financial reporting / auditing role

• Prior experience in Hungarian statistical / regulatory reporting role is an advantage

• Accounting and/or Financial reporting experience

• Advanced MS Excel knowledge

• Fluent Hungarian and English knowledge
