  • Responsible for US GAAP, reporting and analyses of data and other ad hoc requests for information

  • Perform month-end closings, general ledger account analysis and Balance Sheet account reconciliations, prepare SOX controls

  • Prepare and post journal entries and perform related account reconciliations, in addition to loading financial data into BCS monthly

  • Prepare and review management reports and financial information analysis on monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Identifying, solving and/or escalating accounting issues to his/her supervisor

  • Interact with other finance and accounting personnel thorough the organization

  • Continuously improve closing processes and efficiency

  • Ensures compliance with Celanese policies / procedures and SOX controls

  • Interfaces with external and internal auditors for PBC requests and process and account explanations

  • Actively participate in general ledger change projects as required

  • BSc or MSc Degree in Finance/Accounting

  • At least 1-3 years relevant work experience in accounting; previous experience in a shared service center or accounting experience at a large company, or fast paced environment is desired

  • Conversational English language knowledge

  • Previous experience with SAP (or similar ERP system) is an advantage

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills while being able to work independently

  • Follows through on commitments and demonstrates ownership of results

  • Effectively prioritizes assignments

  • Ability to resolve ambiguous or complex assignments

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act is desired

  • Good command of German or Italian is an asset
