HR Manager – Business Services Center (BSC)

Location: Budapest, Hungary

As a member of Eaton’s Electrical & Corporate EMEA HR and Business Service Center (BSC) Local Leadership Teams, actively participate in the definition & implementation of Eaton’s HR strategy in EMEA, with direct accountability for the BSC Head of HR in Budapest.

Essential Functions:

  • BSC HR

  • HR Functional Excellence _ Ensure that all HR activities and programs are implemented in accordance with Eaton’s HR strategy. These include: talent acquisition; talent management & organizational effectiveness; compensation & benefits; mobility; rewards & recognition ; performance management; inclusion and diversity; health, safety and employee wellness; human resources administration; human resource information systems; payroll; employee communications; employment/industrial/labor relations; right-sizing activities; mergers, acquisitions & divestitures activities; HR governance.

  • Deputy Facility leader _ Act as deputy facility leader for the BSC in Budapest, Hungary, and ensure site policies and programs are implemented in accordance with Eaton’s standards. Responsible for Office Coordination, Administration, 3rd party providers to the office and HR. BSC site budget responsibility.

  • Responsible for Service Delivery Team Leadership.

  • Responsible for Volunteer Group activities and engagement.


  • Ensure an overall “landlord support” for all business and functional roles within the BSC

  • Ensure adequate facility space and environment that supports the business needs.

  • Represent Eaton with building owner, building management, project management and all suppliers to ensure adequate quality and the best price facility.

  • Secure building space as required to meet the space demands of the Eaton businesses

  • Accountable for CAR and Operating Budgets

  • Ensure support and results of all teams (Facility, property and office management, HR, MESH, Finance, IT, Project Transition & CPI, External and internal communication)

  • Lead profit planning and financial results of BSC : Coordinate with business partners to understand their current and future business requirements.


  • Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to improve organizational capability and drive culture change to align the organization with the strategy. Must have the ability to diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gap, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training. Ensure organization practices align with Eaton Philosophy. Develop and nurture a customer focused, positive customer caring attitude, capabilities, and culture. The CustomerCare Center will be in startup and growth over the next several years. Entrepreneurial thinking in this start up organization while driving professional HR actions within the global Eaton environment will be valued.


  • Through the performance management system ensure that annual employee job performance assessments are conducted. This includes the annual goal setting process, the annual assessment process and periodic feedback sessions that strive to raise the performance bar in the organization. Provide coaching and consulting to BSC leaders on effective performance management intervention.

  • EMPLOYEES COMMUNICATION: Advocate employee communications processes that inform employees as well as to assure two way communications between employees and management.

  • COACHING, CONSULTING, FACILITATING: Provides guidance and direction to business leaders on human resource management policies, processes and systems that result in high values and performance.

  • TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Manage these processes to facilitate employee development, career path, and continuous learning culture.

  • LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Assure that the business has in place processes that comply with country legal requirements in the areas of employment and employment administration.

  • COMPENSATION: Administer compensation programs to assure competitive pay practices through systems that strive to reward superior employee performance. Develop compensation package tailored to Customer Care and Business Service practices in Budapest and in Eaton.

  • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Promotes and positive employee relations and employee engagement that is the foundation of exceptional Eaton Customer Care Culture.

  • TALENT MANAGEMENT AND RETENTION: Develop talent acquisition plans that anticipate short/long-term business needs. Coach others on how to engage and retain key talent, identify when there is a retention risk and differentiate between wanted and unwanted turnover. This is critical to the short and long term success of a new Customer Care and Business Service Center.


  • Minimum of a university degree, preferably with concentration in HR. Masters’ Degree preferred.

  • Experience in a multi-country HR experience is required.

  • Experience in HR and Shared Service Industry preferred.

  • A previous experience in managing a multicultural team is crucial for this role. An experience in managing resources remotely would be a plus.

  • Excellent business service skills and hands on people management.

  • Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate and align policies and practices to the Eaton Philosophy & Values and Code of Ethics .

  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels in a highly-matrix environment.

  • Demonstrate discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment.

  • General knowledge of local employment laws and ability to apply legal concepts to real world situations.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience

  • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations

  • Fluent in Hungarian and English is required
