IBM Procurement Tactical Buyer (Fluent German) - Tech Products in BUDAPEST, Hungary

The Global Procurement Center within ISSC is a cross-continental and international services organization. IBM's procurement administration used to be processed in 300 different IBM locations in the world, now we do it in only three cities: Sanghai, Bangalore and Budapest and these procurement-support services are available not only for IBM operations but for customers as well. Among tasks are order-processing, supplier-relationship, invoice follow-up, business controls and measurement reporting. A high-level of services is provided by skilled employees, outstanding working conditions and excellent infrastructure.The Tactical Buyer’s primary role is to support IBM internal and external procurement requirements for various commodities. Buyers are responsible for coping with issues stemming from “blocked” invoices. Responsibility for transactions in the relevant country for which service is provided, providing optimal cost, quality and delivery. Main Responsibility Areas:

  • Implementation of the process of supplying goods for IBM offices

  • Ensuring smooth order flow when possible by creating, developing and archiving proper documentation for every supplier part of the supply chain.

  • Communication with internal clients in order to distribute the orders towards the most proper supplier.

  • Requesting offers, documents, etc. from suppliers when needed.

  • Dealing with “blocked” invoices following agreed corporate procedures.

  • Communication with line managers and internal clients for coping with extraordinary situations.

  • Cooperating and helping other teams and agents in the local Procurement Centre including: orders and requests processing, business controlling, communication with other Procurement Centers.

  • Application of commodity policy specified by council and sourcing buyer strategy

  • Gathering and comparison of quotes from selected suppliers.

  • Use of systems and tools specific to commodities as well as ensuring that information held on these is consistent with core purchasing systems (SAP etc)

  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned by the manager, team lead and council leads.

    Main Contacts / Clients: Suppliers, CBT managers, Country Procurement Managers, Requestors, Sourcing Buyers, Financial departments and other specialists involved in the process of planning and implementing the process of supplying goods for IBM internal and external client needs.
