Role Summary:

The SAP Development Expert plays a key role in Grid Solutions SAP program delivery, whatever Core Model evolutions, Enterprise Standards implementations or roll-outs, thanks his/her strong SAP ABAP technical expertise, SAP PI/PO development expertise and ideally others technical competencies (e.g. SAP UI5).

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with business stakeholders, process owners and functional architects to guide complex projects and develop innovative solutions

• Support functional architects in designing solutions for the gaps identified

• Focus on business process re-engineering efforts and technology enablement

• Apply strong knowledge of the business processes for specification, development, testing, and documentation of ABAP code for all kind of SAP projects

• Interpret functional requirements, propose solution and develop ABAP programs according to the specifications, including conversions, reports, forms, enhancements, and interfaces

• Conduct knowledge transfer of his / her developments to Indian offshore team , including sharing best practices

• Perform audit of existing custom developments , propose remediation and share best practices

• Resolve issues in existing developments

• Coordinate and contribute to upgrade development activities

• Make recommendations on strategic direction for the use and implementation of SAP applications, as well as integrated third party systems

• Support our Security and Audit Requirements & processes

• Be up to date in technical aspects related to SAP, including HANA, FIORI, …

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Strong experience delivering SAP ABAP expertise

• SAP PI/PO development expertise

• Experience of SAP FIORI and SAP UI5

• Experience of Object Oriented programming

• Experience of Report writing using ALV and ABAP lists

• Experience of Sapscripts, smart forms, report painter and ALV report development

• Experience of ALE, RFC, Idocs

• Experience of Interfaces, SAP business connector

• Experience of BADIs/BAPIs, User exits/enhancements

• Experience of Workflow

• Experience of WebDynpro

• Technical work with SAP FI, CO, PS, MM, PP, QM, WM, HUM, SRM, SD, CS, MRS modules / add-ons

• Experience of SAP upgrades

• A 1st exposure to HANA development is a plus

• Experience using SAP Solution Manager

• Experience working with off-shore team located in India

• General understanding of other global applications integrated with SAP (PLM, CRM, Project Management solution)

• Periodic off-hours support for go-lives or major issues

• Flexibility to travel when needed (occasional travels to Paris / potential worldwide travel on a GE site for 2-4 weeks max.)
