Position Purpose and Major Tasks:

  • Represents Cargill in front of key domestic customers/suppliers

  • Daily Contact with commercialC trade execution teams, frequent and regular contact with finance&silo operations

  • Share relevant best practices with other Cargill Organization

  • Supporting the whole origination team, in reaching both the volume and the profit target.

  • Accurate forecasting.

  • Calibrating the estimated costs of executing contracts in order to achieve minimum variances to the real costs.

  • Accountable for accurate reported positions, daily prices, hedge FOREX; calculating and reconciling P&L and calculating daily margins, costs and prices through communication with Geneva, even if passed as tasks to a junior trader.

  • Accountable for analyzing and keeping up to date the SND and support in developing opportunities for both local and export markets to maximize origination/margins, even if passed on as tasks for junior traders.

  • Part of elaborating game plans each year, in connection with the hub and the merchandising manager.

  • Part of elaborating the trading budget and elaborating the strategy for reaching the budgeted figures.

  • Accountable for reaching the budgeted results for the product in charge of

  • Handle business practices & logistics to support merchants/trade execution

  • Handle purchases and sales of grains;

  • In relations with suppliers/clients, negotiate and conclude the deal (sale/purchase contract)

  • Managing key accounts, identifying and developing new accounts relevant to the growth of the business.

  • Identifying ways to access new markets in order to secure the farm access necessary for the sales team

  • Identifying ways to access key logistic facilities and in a broader area, solutions for logistics issues.

  • Send and discuss daily prices to/with the field representatives and customers

  • Seek and gather specific information from the market, accumulate knowledge related to the industry, the commodities and consolidate into daily/weekly reports.

  • Accountable to ensure that all contracts are in compliance with legal demands

  • Support for the whole trading team, both origination and customer demand team.

  • Support the execution team for problem solving on the execution of the contracts and agree on the planning of the logistics for the ongoing contracts.

  • Assuming a leader role and attitude, whilst acting as a mentor to the younger team members.

  • Spend 20% of working time visiting customers, farmers and suppliers to have a broad understanding of their business, market context and build strong partnerships.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in commodity merchandising

  • Fluent in English and the local language

  • Broad understanding of commercial role

  • Sound risk management knowledge and P&L knowledge

  • Project management

  • Very strong negotiations skills

  • Customer relationships management

  • Analytical skills

  • Results oriented

  • Risk taking

  • Able to make quick decisions

  • Independent thinking is strongly required.

  • Firm decision-making skills needed.

  • The position may require traveling inside and outside the country, for specific meetings, trainings and / or short-term work assignments.
