The Regional Operations Centre of BT is looking for colleagues as Senior Microsoft Windows Server Administrator to our office in Budapest.
Purpose of Role:
Provide Windows Server administration support for incidents, problems and change ensuring that all work is within the relevant service level agreements and adheres to appropriate BT processes
Support of environments based on virtual platforms for internal services and external customers
Involved in design, build, configuration and live support
The role holder is responsible for implementing and transitioning new managed IT solutions into support and providing in-life support as required.
The role includes assessing and interpreting solution designs and determining impact and requirements for in-life support as well as providing expert technical support to customers and solutions.
The role holder will have a broad range of IT skills and experience, with specialisation in one or more key fields.
The role holder will interface to customers at all levels.
Provide complex technical support and maintenance to customers. This will include problem diagnosis and Resolution and will often include escalated technical support issues. The job holder may participate in the design and deployment of new Systems.
2nd and 3rd line support of Windows servers for development and production environments
Processing of incident and change tickets within the defined operating processes according to ISO 20000
Responsible for planning and implementation of Microsoft solutions for managed hosting customers
Continuous service improvements including automation, patch management and server optimisation including relevant documentation and design changes
Detailed documentation of rules, work instructions, concepts, scripts
Obtain a detailed understanding of all SLAs applicable to their work stream
Liaise with 1st through 4th line (Internal, Vendor) support teams and with suppliers globally
Carry out testing and evaluation of IT infrastructure against customer and contractual requirements in order to determine readiness for live support
Produce test scripts, operational and technical documentation
Provide technical support and problem diagnosis/resolution on customers managed infrastructure, on a 24x7 on-call rota if required.
Provide advice and guidance to other groups on operational and technical issues.
Required Experiences and Skills
ITIL foundation accredited
Excellent overall IT skills and knowledge
Relevant computer science based degree or equivalent work experience
3 years of experience in design, implementation and support of Microsoft servers (Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2) at a professional data center provider
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Knowledge of high availability systems
Knowledge of ITIL process models and ISO 20000 standards
Very good command of spoken and written languages (English)
Veritas/Symantec NetBackup administration
TrendMicro Anti-virus knowledge
Shavlik patching technology
Excellent Customer relationship skills
Excellent verbal and written English language skills
Strong service-oriented attitude
Self-Management and Motivation
Ability to work under varying degrees of pressure.
Ability to communicate on different levels to different customers and internal teams
Ability to be responsible and take ownership of issues
