Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock's infrastructure groups encompass myriad essential corporate functions that support every BlackRock employee and client, and every aspect of the firm's business. Human Resources provides a broad range of services, programs and products to BlackRock employees and business managers. Human Resources manages its operations through a combination of business alignment, cross-business services and functional specialities. BlackRock’s Executive Search Team is part of the Talent Acquisition function, which is responsible for all recruitment activity across the firm (c2500 hires per year).

Job Purpose/Background:

Own business recruitment strategy, understanding global, functional and regional nuances and context, whilst building a relevant hiring approach. Owning the delivering against the hiring plan and ensuring connectivity across BlackRock

Key Success Indicators

  • Understanding business context and landscape; translating into hiring approach that fits the business needs and underpins the collective one BlackRock approach
  • Bringing current market intel from both the internal and external landscape and using that intel to drive strategic solutions and latest recruitment thinking
  • Understanding and analysing accurate and timely data metrics to help the business make informed decisions on their hiring plans
  • Understanding the impact, building a strategy and supporting hiring plans in BlackRock in an ever shifting landscape
  • Building successful and credible partnerships with HRBP’s and Business Managers which are consultative, informed and effective

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure hiring approvals in place to manage hiring plans, and execute recruitment strategy
  • Influence hiring manager to ensure best standards and recruitment practices on behalf of BlackRock
  • Responsible for building strong relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Actively managing open positions at VP/D level
  • Interpret internal and external recruitment information and market intel and deliver messaging
  • Own the Build of talent pools for the business/region
  • Accountable for being a brand ambassador and developing marketing, channel use and appropriate web and social media strategy – and assessing success and opportunity
  • Build a strategy for using and managing recruitment agencies and/or external search partners
  • Provide advice and direction on best in class assessment, selection and hiring methodology
  • Promote and drive “Internal First” culture and embed approach to business and region
  • Build capability and understanding on how to recruit across business and geographies
  • Accountable for hiring diverse candidates, for building a diversity recruiting strategy, and being a diversity champion
  • Being part of the management structure in BlackRock TA, participating in cross business initiatives, driving collective goals and objectives

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Proven track record in recruiting within financial services or an equal performance driven industry sector
  • Advanced knowledge and depth of understanding and EMEA recruiting landscape and context
  • Strength in cultural awareness and ability to work across borders, jurisdictions and navigate regional variances
  • Credibility to manage business relationships and navigate organisational context
  • Excellent understanding of how current recruitment sector is operating through internal, RPO and augmentation models
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of candidate management techniques at all levels
  • Experience of managing, rationalising and embedding preferred partner programmes
  • Excellent communication skills and evidence of working within a global matrix organisation would be advantageous
  • Diversity passion and strength in finding, engaging and building diverse talent pipelines
  • Gravitas and credibility to manage senior business relationships and navigate organisational context and needs
