We are seeking a highly motivated solutions engineer for our Motive Labs Group to help us drive value by building proof of concepts and working with different teams to deliver solutions to our customers. The Solutions Engineer will support the sales and business development teams through software demos and trials which are critical to growing our business worldwide. The role will demand interaction with end customer, account team, pre-sales, business development, services, and product teams. Your ability to build and evoke confidence in our solutions and technology infrastructure to overcome all technical objections in demos or trials is essential. To be successful in this role, you need to be passionate about customer success, get excited by making things work and be highly technical.
Help maintain a core demo repository for Sales, Pre-Sales, and Business Development teams to use.
Perform product installations and configurations for customers.
The ability to travel to perform installation/configuration of our solutions onsite.
Ensure Motive provides innovative prototypes and proof of concepts in a timely manner.
Work with team to clearly define the overall solution requirements and ensure that the solution design and implementation will meet the business needs of the customer.
Help maintain/manage virtual machine environment.
3 years of experience in software development.
Strong ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, tasks and changing priorities.
Experience working independently and under aggressive timelines.
Innovator with good ideas, strong problem solving abilities, and a results-oriented attitude.
Experience using Linux (Red Hat Enterprise preferred).
Experience with scripting/automation languages: BASH, SQL, Expect, Python, and Ruby.
Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills (ability to present to different audiences and bring the message across in a concise, professional manner).
Degree in a technical field (CS, MIS, etc.).
Knowledge of networking topology, TCP/IP protocol, network configuration, and components.
Experience with UI design/implementation is a huge plus.
Experience with VMWare (vCloud) products and AWS is a bonus.
Mobile app development is a bonus.
