The position is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the manufacturing engineering department consisting of a broad range of engineers and technicians. He/she works closely with manufacturing, product management, quality, and R&D functions in order to achieve the business' continuous improvement goals.
The Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor supports the development and implementation of methods, processes and related solutions encountered in all manufacturing processes (Molding and Assembly). The functional duties encompass the resolution of tool and design problems, development of product design enhancements, cost improvements on new and existing processes that drive overall manufacturing performance. The role of this position is also required to manage complex technical projects while ensuring that the systems and processes developed are capable of producing high quality products and conform to stringent regulatory requirements.
A major responsibility of the position is the direct support of TE Electronics Operating Advantage (TEOA) culture and tools. As such, the supervisor must have demonstrated experience in working in a lean environment with specific experience as part of a successful lean transformation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prioritize the work load for the department based on the operation's overall goals.
Provide a leadership role and act as a change agent to support the implementation of lean to attain world class status in manufacturing operations.
Provide the support and leadership required to develop a strong and capable engineering team.
Investigate manufacturing engineering problems to determine root cause of manufacturing defects or failures and implement permanent solutions.
Make recommendations to correct and resolve problems by suggesting design changes, process or equipment changes, and tooling modifications
Manage capital equipment projects, specify and implement new manufacturing equipment
Work with R&D to successfully scale up new products for manufacturing
Required Skills, Education, Experience:
Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical, Eletric, Mechatronic and Materials).
Strong engineering management experience.
Molding and Assembly manufacturing processing experience is desired.
Demonstrated understanding of financial and operational performance data required.
Ability to present technical and financial information to executive level staff required.
Experience in the use of six-sigma tool and the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience in leading a manufacturing operation through a successful lean transformation with demonstrated results in improved performance in all aspects of operatons.
Ability to seamlessly work across a broad range of functions including sales, marketing, engineering, product development, production, quality, tooling and senior management.

Demonstrated ability to develop and promote subordinates.
