Syngenta Business Controller in Hungary

Role Purpose

  • To lead a Territory and Country team of financial analysts supporting Finance BPs in Commercial, driving continuous quality and efficiency improvements

  • To act as point of contact for Territory and Country Finance in respect to reporting and controlling activities and processes.

  • To support respective Finance BPs in decision making process with the preparation and collection of financial information (Actuals and Forecasts)

  • To coordinate in conjunction with the Territory Finance leads, the country forecasting process (e.g. Budgets and Latest Estimates), including instructions, data management and preparation of presentations to Territory and Country management Accountabilities

  • Provide timely and relevant financial analysis and reports to Finance teams and commercial organization in order to support key business decisions and validate results against KPI's.

  • Coordinate the quarterly Latest Estimates (LE's) and annual Budgets in order to ensure timely completion, accurate information and qualitative financial input.

  • Consolidation of Territory and Country financial performance and commentaries in monthly reporting pack for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR's).

  • Act as point of contact for Territory and Country Finance BP's in respect to reporting and controlling activities and processes.

  • Direct, coordinate and allocate the work of subordinates efficiently, provide training and support as necessary, and manage succession planning. Ensure continuous operation and provide all regular and ad-hoc reports in a timely manner and appropriate quality.

  • Support Ad hoc analysis, projects and requests as necessary to enable decision support.

Knowledge Experience & Capabilities

  • Good understanding of financial statements

  • Understanding of reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning processes

  • Good knowledge of the Syngenta products and Function Costs drivers

  • Sound understanding of key financial concepts, solid theoretical background in finance and accounting

  • Experience in the understanding and effective communication of financial results to non-financial staff

  • Business facing experience working with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills, development oriented

  • Ability to effectively analyze numerical information, present conclusions and recommendations in a clear way

  • Ability to influence business stakeholders

  • Ideally Master's degree or bachelor's degree supported with post graduate professional accountancy qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CFA, etc.) Job Functions
