Client Invoicing Services (CIS) is a global team of approx. 80 and is part of the BlackRock Data Services (BDS).

BDS provides centralized data support for the Firm, and serves the dual mission of supporting BlackRock and BlackRock Solutions (BRS) clients through overseeing Security Master, Client, Portfolio and Retail Sales Data, as well as Pricing, Index, Green Package, Performance and Attribution Reporting. BDS teams ensure comprehensive Quality Assurance and timely delivery of all information relevant to investment and risk professionals while running a scalable and efficient operational process on over $17T of BlackRock and BRS assets.

CIS provide management and performance fee invoices for institutional separately managed account clients and retail relationships located in the Americas, EMEA and APAC (excluding Japan). CIS are responsible for reviewing fee terms within client agreements, ensuring invoices and internal accruals are raised in line with these agreements and following up with clients to ensure collection of revenue. Global CIS Operations teams are currently located in New York, Wilmington, Edinburgh and Gurgaon.

CIS produce around 6000 invoices on a quarterly basis. Many invoice calculations are complex due to agreed fee terms and client structures. The team is undergoing significant change in both staffing and systems creating a dynamic and challenging environment for team members.

Key responsibilities include:

As a senior member of the Team this role will be responsible for the management and delivery of client onboarding, invoicing, revenue collection for a regional group (EMEA or USA).

This role is responsible for maintaining a best in class client service model together with a robust risk management and operational control environment for a regional team. There will be significant opportunity to contribute be and responsibility for project activity within CIS and BDS.

  • Ability to manage a team and self to reach and exceed targets set on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

  • Build technical ability to be able to assist team with complex calculation and client issues

  • Communicate instructions to team and internal stakeholders in a clear, concise and constructive manner

  • Coach and mentor team members ensuring team are challenged and motivated to compete deadlines and make improvements

  • Be point person for internal/external audit and Sarbanes Oxley for functions within the team

  • Suggest and drive change initiatives within the department

  • Build and manage relationships with key global stakeholders including Client Business, Operations and other Finance ensuring any decisions and process changes are clearly communicated along with their impact

  • Escalate issues to management and BlackRock risk groups as required

  • Complete and present production metrics to team, senior management, and internal stakeholders

  • Prior asset management experience helpful, but not required

  • Candidate must have people management experience (2 years minimum)
