We are looking for a Manager to lead and direct a software development team in the delivery of enterprise solutions, directing implementation for new features and enhancements while maintaining scalability, supportability and time-to-market. This individual will have direct reporting responsibility for a team of Software Developers, including their performance and career development.  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to a team of Software Developers and direct their activities in the delivery of Print and Scan Management software solutions. The focus area for this position is embedded software running on a number of Nuance partner platforms, e.g. Samsung, HP, Xerox, Ricoh, etc. This position has responsibility for ongoing defect and new feature development and/or design work to support new platforms.

  • Oversee the analysis, design, development, debugging, and modification of complex software systems for delivery into global markets. This includes the preparation of technical documentation and providing written, concise proposals and recommendations.

  • Interact with project managers, marketing, sales, customers and other end users to define system or application requirements and capture in appropriate documentation.

  • May take a lead engineering role with multiple large/complex projects or customer accounts. Act as an escalation point for issues ranging from deployment and delivery to resource allocation.

  • Distribute and prioritize work assignments and monitor performance of team members. Select, develop, and evaluate performance of direct reports, ensuring an efficient and productive operation.

  • Create operational processes and procedures for their teams, ensuring processes are followed.

  • Devise strategic plans for their area and deliver on those plans. Devise/track key performance indicators to show progress and goal achievement against those plans 

  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years managing development teams

  • Demonstrated, strong problem-solving skills

  • Experience with Windows Service/Application Development

  • Experience with Java development

  • Familiarity with Web development using Java stack

  • Experience with Enterprise solutions

  • Experience with providing project status to senior Management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Very good command of English, both written and verbal.

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

  • Track record of successfully delivering software with high quality

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with remote teams.

  • Experience with printing or scanning solutions a plus.

  • Experience with Tomcat

  • Familiarity with security concepts (TLS, encryption)


  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
