Role Summary:

Experienced Senior Professional responsible for the Global Statutory Accounting digital transformation necessary to achieve best in class results. This role will lead the company’s effort to digitize the statutory audit process across the globe. A specific focus on design and deployment of enterprise standard digital tools across the wing to wing statutory accounting process

Essential Responsibilities:

  • HFM – OneSource – DRM supporting the Wing-to-Wing Statutory Accounts Preparation process, in line with the requirements laid out in the S2T Enterprise Standard and support the collection of the Functional Requirements from the Business Teams, with special responsibility for ensuring requirements arevalidated with the Technical Solutions teams where they deviate from the standard requirements and for applying the necessary critical sense in discussing the functional needs with the Business

  • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive strategic and tactical planning covering technical, organizational and operational readiness to deploy the STAT Tools both for selected pilots as well as for all other businesses and countries in scope

  • Prepare periodical progress reporting against those plans and ensure the planning is kept up to date with changes in the Business IT environment impacting the roll out of the STAT Tools

  • Support the deployment in close co-operation with the Business: ensure progress tracking and escalation where needed and act as gatekeeper for new functional requirements raised during deployment

  • Monitor adherence to the functional requirements and the Enterprise Standard post go live and act as gatekeeper for any new functional needs or required functionality enhancements (e.g. Regulatory changes)

  • Interact very closely with the STAT IT technical teams to ensure functional needs are properly developed and deployed

  • Support gathering of functional requirements for DRM (Data Relationship Manager) and communicate with the DRM technical team – also support change management to DRM going forward


  • Bachelor’s degree or other relevant qualification ACA / ACCA / CPA

  • Qualified Accountant is desired (at least affinity with STAT Accounting preferably within GE

  • Project Management skills, preferably for IT related projects

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • Proven ability to interact with Senior Leadership

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Hungary

Desired Characteristics:

  • CPA/ ACCA qualification or Big4 experience

  • Significant level of practical experience on statutory accounting and reporting matters as well as international and US tax standards.

  • Experience performing process improvement activities in a finance capacity

  • Experience building up teams and processes in a multi-cultural, international environment, ideally in one of GE’s industrial businesses. Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers generate alternatives and drive positive change.

  • Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas.

  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Solid IT knowledge: experience designing and deploying with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills, PowerPoint

  • Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.

  • Adaptable/flexible: open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.

  • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

  • Good understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP.
