General Electric Manager – Statutory Governance and Operations in Budapest, Hungary

GE conducts its international trade through over 3,000 legal entities located in over 120 different countries. This role supports the execution of the statutory filing process for these entities by working with a team of over 300 stat experts throughout the world and a broad range of stakeholders on the business and tax functions. The individual will help to ensure that the stat process is complying with standards in terms of both quality of filings and timeliness of filing.
The person will also be responsible for managing the overall relationship with the company’s external auditors, KPMG.
The role will support the Statutory Governance and Operations leader to ensure all GE Stat filings are completed timely and with right quality. The role has considerable breath but will include:
Ensure All Filings Are completed on time and with right quality
Monitor and drive GOF ownership to 100% by working with business and GOF teams
Ensure Teams Prepare robust plans, by providing training, spot checking a sample, providing feedback and learnings
Monitor progress during the cycle to help identify and solve specific risk issues. Escalate when appropriate
Prepare monthly dashboards and reports for consumption by key business leaders who can influence the process
Manage the development of e-compliance and Spotfire (or alternate tools) and ensure they meet ongoing needs.
Ensure Statutory Audits Run Smoothly and Efficiently
Manage the process of collecting audit fees (Budget/Actual) for the audit committee
Drive key audit fee reduction efforts including glide path, best case, overrun mitigation and ensure audit related issues are solved.
Ensure significant issues from the audit including KPMG dashboard, management letters are addressed.
Run annual audit process survey and ensure action is taken based on joint feedback
Support Specific Initiatives as Appropriate
Ensure all disposition entities run through the disposition tollgates so the accounting and operational issues associated with the disposition are addressed
Monitor recent acquisitions and ensure they are integrated appropriately from a Stat Perspective.
Monitor regulatory change from both a Stat, Gaap and Tax perspective and ensure impacts are implemented appropriately
The ideal candidate should have a minimum strong experience including
Bachelor’s degree in finance. & formal accountancy qualification ACA / ACCA / CPA
Prior Big 4 Audit Experience, minimum supervisor level
Excellent project management skills, ability to track progress to millstones, solve problems and hold teams accountable to deliver.
Good knowledge of GE Stat Policies and related tools.
Operational Finance / Controllership experience
Practical experience with IFRS and multi country reporting GAAP’s
Confirmed ability to work with teams from a multi-cultural environment
Good IT and presentation skills. Able to simplify complex information
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
