Home Care is a key strategic area for Unilever, Europe and Hungary.

The Hungarian HC business is highly competitive, innovative and has strong local and global brand positions. Brands like Floraszept, CiF, Domestos, Coccolino, Surf, Sunlight amongst others are important for this cluster.

The Local Deploy Officer for Hungary, is based in Budapest, HU, and is responsible for implementing local R&D elements of the innovation programme and providing relevant input and insight for the successful activation of products/brands in the local cluster of Hungary and Adriatic, as well as in the broader Central Eastern Europe cluster of countries. He/she is the expert in local technical matters and provides high quality technical and R&D support enabling flawless implementation of innovations, renovations and other relevant projects into the local markets.


The Local Deploy Officer partners with the marketing team by ensuring full R&D support to local activities and successful implementation of new / relaunched HC products in the market, with primary emphasis on Hungary-Adria cluster but also the broader Central Eastern Europe cluster. Specifically:

  • Supports the implementation of product launches and innovation and renovation projects for the HC portfolio within the business cluster. This work includes, landing the technical project execution for new projects and translating technical concepts into consumer language, competitor monitoring, technical excellence and support to the business such as trainings and input to local gatekeeping meetings.

  • Influences and educates our customers, consumers and business partners with our products and technologies.

  • Works with R&D, Regulatory, Legal and Marketing to provide expert feedback on claim and communication strategies and input into risk assessments.

  • Performs technical claim assessment and substantiation to ensure that on-pack claims, and adverts that are aired are robustly supported from technical point of view.

  • Artwork approvals, compliance checks for new or relaunched products according to mandatory Unilever policies & relevant EU and local legislation.

  • Supports local product registrations and documentation for authority compliance, according to Unilever policies and EU and local legislation.

  • Helps to direct the technical innovation agenda by identifying new technologies, ideas and claim areas via thorough market / competitor investigations using a variety of tools.

  • Contributes with technical/product knowledge in issues/crisis management and closely collaborates with the local / regional Quality Assurance team, as required.

  • Degree in technical, natural science, or related fields with good knowledge in chemistry.

  • Preferably 1-2 years of work experience in a technical, ideally R&D environment.

  • Preferably candidates should have experience in the Home or Personal Care industry.

  • Willingness to travel within Europe, if needed (c.5%).

  • Fluent in Hungarian and English (writing and verbal).

  • Fluent in MS Office suite applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook.
