Essential Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate and manage relevant yearly spend reports

  • Develop and implement commodity strategy for all GE Businesses across Europe, develop creative sourcing strategies beyond price negotiation: joint process improvement, outsourcing, etc.

  • Lead virtual teams with point persons in each business

  • Work closely with functional leaders at European level to prepare strategic changes

  • Communicate to business General Managers and other senior staff, obtain sign-off for projects

  • Lead data gathering and analysis process

  • Lead supplier negotiation, e-auctions and communication

  • Own and manage e-procurement strategy for commodity including content management

  • Work with businesses and suppliers to manage and track implementation of Corporate contracts

  • Liaise with US team to align approach and co-ordinate negotiations

  • Contribute to building and implementing best-in-class sourcing processes


  • Excellent communication and networking skills

  • Fluent in English, additional European languages a plus

  • Having active student enrollment in Business or similar

  • Excellent understanding of key business processes and organizational dynamics

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Confident Excel, Power Point, Word knowledge

  • Availability: min 32 hours/week but 40 is preferred

  • Energy enthusiasm and drive

  • Previous sourcing or negotiating or legal or labor services experience an advantage

  • Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Hungary.
